Twelve Schriever space operators from the 50th Operations Groups visited Onizuka AFS May 24 as part of a professional development trip. The group, which included Lt. Col. Lester Lorenz, 50th OG deputy commander (top right); Lt. Col. Jean Eisenhut, 3rd Space Operations Squadron commander (middle right); and Chief Master Sgt. Bradley Shirley, 50th OG command chief (second from bottom left), made a stop at Lockheed Martin before heading to Vandenburg AFB for a mission brief. The group also visited the network operations center, power plant and satellite communications facility, before climbing one of Onizuka’s heavy terminal antennas for a group photo with the base’s iconic “Blue Cube” in the background.
