One of the biggest moments in a non-commissioned officer’s career is being promoted to the rank of a senior NCO.

Family, friends, coworkers and commanders joined in a celebration of the good news for 41 of Schriever’s technical sergeants who will pin on master sergeant during the coming months.

Air Force officials selected 5,424 out of 21,829 that were eligible for promotion from technical sergeant to master sergeant which was a promotion rate of 24.85 percent according to Air Force’s Personnel center’s Web Site.

The average score for those promoted was 341.18, with an average time in grade of 4.49 years and average time in service of 15.88 years. The average score was based on the following point averages: 134.27 for Enlisted Performance Reports, 11.4 for decorations, 63.59 for the Air Force supervisory examination and a 79.69 board score.
