Soldiers assigned to the 759th Military Police Battalion participated in a run May 24 at Ironhorse Park to show their support for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

The run through Ironhorse Park started the Pikes Peak region’s three-day participation in this annual event hosted by local law enforcement to raise awareness for Special Olympics.

Special Olympic athlete Carson Blehm led the runners out on the three-mile route.

“It’s great to see the local community, as well as the military community here, (to) support a great cause,” said Dave Blehm, father of the Special Olympic athlete.

“It’s an annual event that any law enforcement agency that’s worth their weight in gold from my perspective participates in,” said Lt. Col. Christopher Burns, 759th MP Bn. commander.
