Sgt. Tofiga Joshua Tautolo

Sgt. Tofiga Joshua Tautolo was born Aug. 31, 1988, in Pago Pago, American Samoa. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2006 and graduated from Recruit Training and the Marine School of Infantry in San Diego. He graduated from the Marine Supply School in 2008 as a warehouse clerk and was transferred to the 1st Supply Battalion, Combat Logistic Regiment 15, 1st Marine Logistics Group, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton, Calif. He deployed with the 1st Supply Bn. three times, twice to Iraq and once to Afghanistan.
Tautolo left the Marines and enlisted in the Army in 2010, graduating from One Station Unit Training at Fort Knox, Ky., as a cavalry scout. He was assigned to Troop B, 3rd Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson in July. He deployed as a driver and gunner March 12.
Tautolo’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Navy Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two bronze stars, Iraq Campaign Medal with bronze star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with bronze star, NATO Medal and Combat Action Badge.
Tautolo is survived by his wife, Rita; son, Toaotaua; father Foai; stepmother, Evotia; brother, Valoai; and sisters, Lusia, Emi and Theresa.
