FORT CARSON, Colo. — The El Paso County Clerk and Recorder’s Office announced that the Fort Carson branch is reopening Sept. 8, 2020. Customers can begin making appointments for in-person service using the online appointment scheduler system at https://clerkandrecorder.elpasoco.com/motor-vehicle-department.
Motor vehicle, limited driver’s license and recording and marriage license services will be available. As a reminder, valid post access is required to gain admittance and walk-in customers will not be served.
“We are excited to resume service to our military personnel, their Families and other customers on (post),” said Chuck Broerman, clerk and recorder. “Offering a branch on Fort Carson reinforces our commitment to the men and women whose service and sacrifice protects our nation.”
Making an appointment online is easy, as illustrated in a video at https://clerkandrecorder.elpasoco.com/motor-vehicle-department. Appointments allow the staff to monitor the number of people in the office, maintain physical distancing and consistently sanitize counters and public areas. For the health and safety of all, customers must wear a mask and maintain social distancing. Only the party to the transaction will be allowed in the waiting area, others will be asked to wait outside.
The Fort Carson branch will be open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is located at 6351 Wetzel Avenue in building 1525.
Customers are encouraged to use the many online services and avoid in-person service for their safety due to COVID-19.
