FORT CARSON, Colo. — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in partnership with the National Weather Service, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Forest Service and U.S. Department of State announce that Air Quality Awareness Week 2022 is celebrated May 2-6, 2022. The 2022 theme is “Be Air Aware & Prepared.” The goal is to promote events that increase air quality awareness and encourage people to check the Air Quality Index daily.
The EPA will focus on the following daily topics this year, featuring one each day on the Air Quality Awareness Week website starting May 2, 2022.
Monday — Wildfires & Smoke
Tuesday — Asthma and Your Health
Wednesday — Citizen Science & Sensors
Thursday — Environmental Justice & Air Quality
Friday — Air Quality Around the World
